Anzac Day

We read a story about Anzac Day and discussed our experiences with Anzac parades and soldiers we knew. The children said some really thoughtful things.

We were really touched by the children's quotes....

"We will remember that the soldiers are the reason that we have peace today."
"We will remember those who died."
"We will remember those who risked their lives."

World of Maths

Today we visited the World of Maths in the school hall. The children worked in groups to solve lots of hands on maths problems.

These boys were thrilled with their achievement!

This group of girls spent twenty minutes solving this. Awesome perseverance and team work!

Making Parachutes

Today we set the children the task of making a parachute armed only with a plastic bag and two pieces of wool. The results were amazing and it generated lots of talk about the forces of flight.

Some children explored how the plastic bag moved through the air before designing their parachutes.

These boys even found a way to use their beloved Pokemon cards. Super thinking!
